The Association of Women Against Violence is a non-governmental organization (NGO), of public utility, independent, secular and non-profit, whose object is the promotion of human rights, particularly the rights of women, young people and children, and the fight against all forms of violence and discrimination.
Principles
- The rights of women, young people and children are human rights;
- Violence against women, young people and children is a problem for society as a whole;
- Violence by men against women is gender-based violence;
- Women can be agents of change in their own lives.

Objectives
- To inform, sensitize and make society aware of the issues of violence against women, young people and children;
- To train professionals in the area of violence against women, young people and children;
- To question and challenge the attitudes, beliefs and cultural patterns that perpetuate and legitimize violence against women, young people and children;
- To develop actions with the authorities to increase the defence of the human rights of women, young people and children;
- Develop local, national and international partnerships to promote models of good practice;
- Identify the needs of women, young people and children in situations of violence and ensure advocacy for their rights; - Provide specialized support for women, young people and children in situations of violence;
- Provide temporary safe shelter for women, young people and children in danger.

- Recognizing and valuing women's experiences;
- Respecting their perspective and decision-making;
- Recognizing and supporting the right to information in order to increase women's, young people's and children's power of choice and decision-making;
- Recognizing the right to confidentiality;
- Recognizing the right to an intervention that guarantees women's, young people's and children's safety.

Note: Some institutions covered by the MEOS Program only issue receipts once a year, before the IRS submission period where these receipts can be declared.
